CIMMfest

Louis Black is the 2014 recipient of our CIMMfest No. 6 Baadasssss Award, named in honor of the inaugural honoree, Melvin Van Peebles, for embodying the spirit of our festival in a singular way. Through his lifetime of work in the arts and service to musicians and filmmakers, we are proud to honor Louis with this award. Not only is he a co-founder of the Austin Chronicle for which he continues to write and serve as editor-in-chief, and a co-founder of the South By Southwest Music Conference, he has eleven film producer credits, including an associate-producer credit for Margaret Brown's Peabody Award-winning The Order of Myths, and six acting credits, he has lent his knowledge both on and offscreen in numerous documentaries.
